In a Non-smoking Area: If we see smoking we will assume you are on fire and take appropriate action.

Editorial: Issue #4 (31st Jan., 2003)

Here we are again, after a bit-more-than-brief hiatus! Things in the shell world were pretty slow recently, but they've been picking up again!

You might have noticed the new domain - I know we've been through several address changes around here, but this is the final one! shell-shocked.org. Please update your links and bookmarks accordingly, and thanks for your patience.

As well, I hope that you find the site a bit faster - we've also changed hosts! So you see, even though things seemed quiet on the surface, there's been lots of under-the-hood work going on.

My undying gratitude goes out to the article authors - without you none of this would be possible. I'd like to take this opportunity to invite you folks to contribute articles, reviews and tutorials. Simply get in touch with me and we can discuss your ideas. As you can see in this issue, articles don't necessarily have to be shell-related, but our goal is to maintain a shell focus.

Please don't hesitate to leave your comments and feedback - it makes things a lot more interesting. Grab a drink (or two) and have a good read!

fold? ha! never! :) The way I see it, there'll always be new issues -- but my usual disclaimer is that there's no fixed release schedule other than "when it's ready" :).

This one just took a wee while longer ... *hehe*

Red: I fixed it for you ...

Hi West - I did a while back, if it's a recent one - I haven't been checking regularly. My flat's been totally flooded from a burst pipe - so life is a bit disrutped at the moment.

I think I'll implement a "keyword" for this site, so you'll have to start your comment with ... say "shells" ... I'll strip that and post your comment.

Hopefully that will keep the spammers at bay.
