shell-shocked mailing lists
Welcome to the shell-shocked mailing lists page. All our lists can be managed using either the forms here or via email - see the individual lists below for details.

There are no ads in the messages, and each list features searchable online archives. A few general comments:
  • If you wish to post from several addresses, subscribe them all, and set all but one of them to vacation mode.
  • When performing list commands via email, please ensure that the proper address is in your email's FROM field.
  • If you repeatedly post inappropriate material to a list, you may be banned. Each list will have several active moderators.
  • Most list commands require verification. For example you must reply to confirmation messages when subscribing and unsubscribing.
  • You don't need to subscribe to any additional services to use these lists and it's archives.
Hope you enjoy contributing and receiving information via these lists. Please let us know if you have any problems at all with these. We'll be happy to help you out.
The Shell-Shocked Team

general shell discussion
This is a help and discussion list for alternative windows shells. Many shells have their own lists, and those should be used as a first point of contact for matters concerning those specific shells.

Discussion on this list will be about matters that concern shell-users in general (for example: shell-switchers, shell tweaking) . As well, someone seeking advice on shells might find this list useful. For example, if one wants a shell with certain characteristics, people on this list might be able to point them in the right direction.

Several shells don't have active communities. This list might be a source of knowledge and information for those. A limited amount of Off-Topic posting will be entertained, however please desist from replying to a thread once a moderator has pronounced it dead.

If you're new to shells, browse this site, and follow some of the links to other sites to learn a bit more.

shell coding and development
The purpose of this list is to provide a forum for programmers of alternate Win32 shells and their modules to talk, share code, and discuss ideas in the hope that better communication between programmers will result in better code.

We believe that a forum for direct coder to coder discussion on topics related to shell programming would be beneficial.

Veteran coders, those eager to learn, and even curious non-coders are encouraged to join.

shell-shocked discussion
The list is primarily for discussion about future issues of Shell-Shocked. There is definitely the danger of spoiling a few surprises :). Material and projects will be discussed here.

I will use this list as a first point of contact when seeking advice concerning Shell-Shocked.

Subscription to this list is moderated, so any requests to join must be approved. If you wish to join, please consider dropping me a note - just to say hi, and perhaps to let me know why you'd like to join.

If you feel you have something to contribute (or that you are l33t enough!), I'd love to have you on board!

Hi West - I did a while back, if it's a recent one - I haven't been checking regularly. My flat's been totally flooded from a burst pipe - so life is a bit disrutped at the moment.

I think I'll implement a "keyword" for this site, so you'll have to start your comment with ... say "shells" ... I'll strip that and post your comment.

Hopefully that will keep the spammers at bay.
